Dr. Jason Perrin

Superintendent of Schools
Armstrong School District

Dr. Jason Perrin began his tenure as Superintendent of the Armstrong School District on July 1, 2025. A native of Western Pennsylvania, he grew up in Rural Ridge and is a proud graduate of the Fox Chapel Area School District.

With more than 30 years of experience in public education, Dr. Perrin brings a student-centered approach to leadership, a strong commitment to academic excellence, and a deep belief in the power of community engagement.

Prior to joining ASD, Dr. Perrin served in several educational roles, including:

  • Science Teacher

    • Greenwich Public Schools (CT), 1994–1998

    • Pine-Richland School District (PA), 1998–2000

 

  • Assistant Principal

    • Park Forest Middle School, State College Area School District, 2000–2002

 

  • Principal

    • Mount Nittany Middle School, State College Area School District, 2002–2011

 

  • District Leadership

    • Supervisor of Elementary & Middle Level Education and Assistant Superintendent, State College Area School District, 2011–2017

 

  • Superintendent

    • Gettysburg Area School District, 2017–2025

 

Dr. Perrin holds the following academic credentials:

  •  B.S. in Secondary Education – Penn State University

  • Graduate Studies in Physical Science – Colorado School of Mines

  • M.Ed. in Administrative and Policy Studies – University of Pittsburgh

  • D.Ed. in Educational Leadership – Penn State University

Dr. Perrin is also a proud alumnus of Leadership Centre County, Class of 2005, reflecting his ongoing dedication to leadership development and civic involvement.

 

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Perrin enjoys spending time outdoors—particularly near his property along the Clarion River. His hobbies include fishing, black powder hunting, and writing for outdoor publications. He is also an avid musician and records original music with the band Boxing Oscars.
