Vision to Learn and the Kittanning Salvation Army are teaming up to offer vision exams and glasses to kids at no cost this summer. Since 80% of children’s learning is obtained through vision, when children can see well they can be more successful.
Vision to Learn’s mobile clinic will be visiting Kittanning Salvation Army (205 South Jefferson Street, Kittanning) on Thursday, August 5th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This is for children ages 5 and up.
The Vision to Learn mobile clinic will arrive at the Salvation Army and a representative will take your child to the mobile clinic to be examined by an Optometrist and Optician. If needed, the doctor will prescribe eyeglasses for your child. Children choose frames and get fitted for glasses. In 3-4 weeks, the glasses will be mailed to the Salvation Army building and they will contact you to come pick them up. If the glasses get lost or broken, Vision to Learn will replace them for free at any time over the next year.
Each appointment will last approximately 15 minutes. Space is limited so please call Debi at 724-543-6622 to schedule your appointment.
