Internet Safety

Is the Cyber Academy Safe? The Armstrong School District makes every effort to make sure we provide a safe learning environment for all students. All laptops are provided with a basic internet content filter and are locked to prevent students from installing other programs. The internet filter is effective at blocking sites, but it is still important for parents to monitor their children when online. The Armstrong School District also provides the students with a secure email account and an instant messaging program. All email has the ability to be monitored and is archived in the school district for a period of 2 years. The instant messaging program is secure and will only allow students and teachers in the cyber classes to communicate.

What if my child is getting cyber bullied?

Cyber Bullying is a concern for all students. The Armstrong School District is committed to providing a bullying-free environment and all incidents should be reported to an Armstrong School District cyber teacher or administrator. All incidents will be investigated and handled per school district policy.
